Deleting your data
Last updated: 5 July 2026 — Right to erasure (Article 17 GDPR)
What is erased on its own
- Your “live” photo: automatically deleted after 12 h.
- Your location: visible for 3 h, deleted after 12 h at the latest. No location history is kept.
- What you entered for the session (first name/nickname, greenflags, redflags, gender, preferences): tied to the ephemeral session.
Since Greenflag does not create any account (no email address, no password), there is no permanent profile that would remain over time.
Becoming invisible immediately
At any time, from the app, you can choose to become invisible using the “Pause the moment” button (available from the Privacy button): you then no longer appear in other people's scans.
Erase everything, right now
- In the app, open the Privacy button and choose “End the moment”: your photo, your greenflags, your paid unlocks, your blocks and your device identity are deleted in cascade, immediately. You start again from scratch, with a new device identity, with no link to the previous one.
- You can also wait for the automatic erasure (12 h).
Two exceptions: any reports that may have been made about you are kept for as long as necessary for the moderation and the security of the service (up to 12 months), even after your other data has been erased; and purchase receipts (transaction identifier, without any banking data) are kept for around 24 months (accounting obligation and fraud prevention). These limited retention periods are provided for by Article 17(3) GDPR.
Erasure request by email
If you wish to formally exercise your right to erasure or to obtain confirmation of the deletion, write to us. As we hold no email address and no identity for you, please include in your message anything that makes it possible to identify your session (for example the date and the approximate place of use), so that we can process your request.
We process requests as quickly as possible and within one month at the latest, in accordance with the GDPR. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr) if you believe that your rights are not being respected.
